After 25 remarkable years at the helm of the Alabama softball program, legendary coach Patrick Murphy has announced his retirement. His departure marks the end of an illustrious era for the Crimson Tide, which has seen unprecedented success under his leadership.

Murphy's coaching prowess is undeniable. During his tenure, Alabama captured six national championships (2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2019, and 2022), making him one of the most successful coaches in NCAA softball history. Additionally, he guided the Tide to 13 conference regular season titles and 12 conference tournament championships.

Building a Dynasty

Beyond his on-field success, Murphy transformed Alabama softball into a national powerhouse. He recruited some of the most talented players in the country, including eight Olympic medalists and over 50 All-Americans.
