German (20) dies in plane crash in Spain

DIe 20-jährige Deutsche und 10 weitere Menschen starben bei einem Flugzeugabsturz am Sonntag in Spanien.

The aircraft, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, was en route from the northwestern city of Vigo to the Canary Islands when it crashed shortly after take-off.

The plane was carrying 11 passengers and two crew members when it crashed near the village of Rodeiro in northwestern Spain.

Emergency services were called to the scene and found the wreckage of the plane in a wooded area.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.

The German Foreign Ministry has confirmed the death of the 20-year-old German woman.

The German embassy in Spain is in contact with the Spanish authorities and is providing assistance to the family of the victim.

The German Foreign Minister has expressed his condolences to the family of the victim.

The crash is the second fatal plane crash in Spain in less than a month.

On 29 January, a military plane crashed in the southeastern province of Murcia, killing 11 people.

The cause of that crash is also still under investigation.
